Project Background
In 1970, when semiconductor was still an emerging industry, there were many visionary leaders came together to form a forum for semiconductor equipment and materials suppliers, which is known as Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). Today, SEMI has become an international industry association with offices around the world. In Taiwan, SEMICON Taiwan is the only and the most international semiconductor exhibition, which is also the second largest semiconductor exhibition in the world. In addition to the microelectronics industry chain, SEMI has also branched out into renewable energy areas, including hydrogenic energy, fuel cell and green finance, etc.
Semiconductor and energy industries have prominent influences on Taiwan. How to achieve the business objectives of SEMI Taiwan and send the brand image to the audiences though social management and social marketing has become a big challenge.
Solution
To assist SEMI Taiwan to implement suitable and effective social marketing, Geber started from the brand value of SEMI. First, we linked SEMI Taiwan’s products and services to define its social position, communication styles and market segmentation. Geber then expanded these materials to develop social marketing strategies and set different target marketing messages. In addition, we maintained a close collaborating relation with SEMI, focusing on discussing about the main topics of the industry and providing suggestions for content optimization.
Results
By 2021, Geber had helped SEMI Taiwan Facebook page grow by more than 19%. In 2022, the number of followers increased by 24.35%, from 38,060 to 57,103 followers.
Social Achievements
By setting up a social content calendar and utilizing marketing strategies to focus on target audiences, Geber had successfully established and enhanced SEMI’s brand image and value. In terms of social content, we sent out informative and entertaining knowledge based on topics related to semiconductors, energy, etc., which effectively increased reach and engagement on social platforms.

In addition to helping SEMI accumulate abundant content and materials that can effectively increase brand volume on social media, Geber also strengthened social interaction, SEMI’s live stream viewers through precise promotion.
In September 2021, the live stream “ SEMI x Foxconn—Analyzing Compound Semiconductor Winner’s Strategies In Taiwan”, which Geber helped SEMI to organize, was reached:

Prior to the opening of SEMICON Taiwan, Geber also supported SEMI in organizing and executing many live stream activities to showcase the exhibition. In December 2021, SEMICON Taiwan 2021 had a grand opening with 650 exhibitors and more than 34,000 attendees. In September 2022, SEMICON Taiwan achieved a better success, with 707 exhibitors, more than 45,000 visitors and more than 4050 people attending a total of 22 forums. SEMICON Taiwan has created a large number of cross-field business matchmaking opportunities for two consecutive years.
